The driver of a motorcycle was taken to the hospital following a crash involving a USPS cargo van at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
According to Columbiana Police Department Chief Mark Edwards, the driver of the motorcycle was travelling south along State Route 46.
According to the police report, the USPS van pulling out of Oakmont Plaza just off of State Route 46 failed to yield to traffic and pulled out in front of the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle attempted to slow down to avoid a collision with the USPS van, but was unable to in time and as a result, struck the van pulling out of Oakmont Plaza.
EMS services were called to take the driver of the motorcycle to the hospital who was suspected to have serious injuries, according to the police report.
Their condition is unknown at this time.
