Nine year old Wellsville boy struck, killed by pickup truck in Columbiana County

State Troopers are investigating after a boy on a bicycle died after being struck by a pickup truck in Columbiana County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol tells 21 News that a Ford F-150 hit a 9-year-old boy from Wellsville as he drove his bike from a private driveway along Route 7 just south of Beaver Local High School.

The child was taken to East Liverpool Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The patrol did not release the name of the child.

The driver from Lisbon stopped after the accident and was interviewed by troopers.
