The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced that a section of State Route 39 in Columbiana County will be closed for five days starting today for a culvert replacement project.

The closure will affect SR 39 just east of Steubenville Pike Road. The road will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, May 16.

During the closure, cars and trucks will be detoured via State Route 7 north to State Route 45 north, then to U.S. 30 west, followed by State Route 518 west to State Route 164 south, and finally back to State Route 39. The detour will be in reverse for traffic traveling in the opposite direction.

ODOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and allow extra time for travel in the area.
