Ready (or not) daily showers this week

The pattern has officially turned wet and muggy. Thanks to a meandering system to our south, the flow will be a continuous siphon of moisture-rich air straight from the Gulf. This system will plague us with showers through midweek, with another stronger system approaching by week’s end. On the bright side, my freshly planted flowers and thriving lawn will enjoy the constant hydration.

Highs will stay around 70 on Tuesday, and we are into the low 70s on Wednesday despite the shower chances. A scattering of showers will be around Tuesday, as this will be the wettest and coolest day this work and school week. Isolated showers will percolate back up during the heat of the day after sunshine and clouds greet you midday on Wednesday.

Thursday may start with some fog giving way to dry skies and sunshine with a warmer afternoon. High temperatures rise near 80 degrees. Our attention then turns toward a system approaching us from the west. Strong storms are possible late Thursday night into Friday morning, while most sleep, as this system aggregates the summer-like atmosphere in place. Once these storms move through Friday morning, sunshine returns, and the humidity levels drop. We will be keeping an eye on the timing of this system and let you know when we know. Saturday might need some waterproof backup plans, especially in the morning. Sunday looks like the brighter and drier half of the weekend.

Have a great Tuesday!
