Adult, two children injured after Amish buggy collides with van in Mesopotamia

Three people, one adult and two children, were injured late Monday after a van collided with an Amish buggy in northern Trumbull County.

State Troopers tell 21 News that the crash occurred after 8:30 p.m. on State Route 87 about half a mile east of the Commons on Route 46.

Three people, one of whom was thrown from the buggy, were hospitalized. Two of the victims were transported by medical helicopter.

Troopers tell 21 News that the injuries are not life-threatening.

The Patrol is trying to determine if the buggy's lights were out before the crash.

The van was towed from the scene.
