Cafaro Foundation distributes $135,000 in scholarships to Northeast Ohio students
The Cafaro Foundation announced in a news release several recipients of scholarships from Northeast Ohio, totaling $135,000.
Fifty students from the area received scholarships ranging in value from $7,000 to $2,000 each.
Recipients were selected primarily for their academic merit. Financial need and recommendations from teachers and guidance counselors were also considered according to the release.
The winner of the William M. and Alyce Cafaro Scholarship is listed as Aubrey Brunton of Mineral Ridge.

According to the release, the Cafaro Foundation has awarded over $26 million in grants to organizations and individuals since the foundation's inception in 1996.
