Two Rite Aid locations in the Shenango Valley are set to close their doors in the coming weeks.

A representative for Rite Aid confirmed with 21 News that the location at 100 Franklin Street in Mercer's pharmacy will close Tuesday, May 27 and the store itself will close Sunday, June 8.

Meanwhile, the location at 126 West Main Street in Grove City's pharmacy will close Sunday, June 1 and the store itself will close Sunday, June 15.

The representative added that Rite Aid's customers remain its top priority as the company works to facilitate a smooth transition of customers' prescriptions to other pharmacies.

This news comes shortly after reports that Rite Aid was seeking bankruptcy protection for the second time since 2023 and is trying to sell substantially all of its assets.
