Youngstown mayoral candidate John White's domestic violence case has been bound over to the Trumbull County Grand Jury for further consideration.

White appeared in court Wednesday afternoon and waived his preliminary hearing.

The warrant against White has been dismissed after he appeared in court to answer felony charges of domestic violence and disrupting public service.

The court reinstated his bond back to $12,500, which White paid 10% of. He's also prohibited from having contact with the victim.

The charges and May 7 warrant stem from an incident earlier in the month that happened in White's home.

According to the police report, White found out that he was not eligible to run for mayor in Youngstown and became irate when the offer he made to a family member to run in his place was declined.

The report says White allegedly broke items in the house and threw things, including a crock pot that went out a window.

Police say White was questioned about the events at the house and dismissed the claims of violence.
