Canfield Local Schools Superintendent Joe Knoll gave his "State of the Schools" address Wednesday night.

Knoll discussed the district's five-year strategic plan which ends in 2027 and will be recalibrated in the near future.

The district is currently focused on two projects - fixing the roof at the middle school and paving the parking lots at the high school.

Other improvements include new security measures in each school building and a new scoreboard at the football stadium.

Knoll's message summarized the good things that happened throughout the school year, focusing on the positives in the district.

"You can sometimes get caught up in all the negative things that are going on in today's world, but for me this is a good opportunity to really focus on the positives," Knoll said.

Canfield voters have rejected a levy three straight times that would have renovated school buildings and replaced the middle school.

Knoll said the people have spoken and the district will not ask for another levy, at least in the short term.
