According to a news release, Westfield and Holloway Insurance, Inc. have teamed up to donate $4,500 to Columbiana Project Playground.

This donation comes as part of Westfield's Legacy of Caring program, according to the release.

According to the release, each year, top independent insurance agents with Westfield are able to nominate a nonprofit within their community to receive a donation.

The donations are awarded through the Westfield Insurance Foundation, an independent private foundation endowed by Westfield.

"As Westfield enters our 177th year, we achieved this longevity by generations of employees and agents working together, committed to preserving and propelling our communities forward," said Ed Largent, Westfield president, CEO, board chair and Westfield Insurance Foundation chairman.

Largent continued," Westfield continues to build on the strong commitment of caring that the founders of our company imagined. It's a great feeling to link arms with our agents and make an impact.

Additionally, the president of Holloway Insurance made a statement within the release.

"The team at Holloway Insurance is always seeking opportunities to volunteer and support our community," said Sean Holloway, president of Holloway Insurance.

Holloway continued," We are proud and thankful for our collaboration with Westfield, which helps our agency make a more powerful impact on the communities where we live and work."

The Columbiana Project Playground intends to replace the current structure found at Firestone Park, previously known as "Funland" to locals of Columbiana.

The Funland structures were built in the 90s according to the Columbiana Project Playground website. According to the website, the structure had a 20-year life expectancy.

The website displays pictures of broken fences, damaged playground equipment, protruding nails, rotting wood and other safety hazards.

The goal of Columbiana Project Playground is to create an accessible, inclusive playground area for members of the community.

The project has also received a $10,000 grant from the Columbiana Community Foundation to help further these efforts.
