Pole struck, car on side after Youngstown Eastside injury crash

 A single-vehicle accident in Youngstown early Friday left a car on its side and a utility pole damaged.

Police and firefighters were called to Albert Street, north of McGuffey Road, around 1 a.m. They discovered a car lying on its side and a broken utility pole leaning.

Authorities reported that no power outages resulted from the downed wires.

One male was transported to a hospital. His condition was not immediately known. According to the Youngstown Police Department, the driver ran into the pole.

There is no indication of drug or alcohol involvement, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
