Renovations to Veterans Square Park in Farrell are almost completed according to the fire chief.
Fire Chief Mike Renner tells 21 News renovations are 95% complete with the only things left to do being finishing up electrical work and painting and marking handicap parking areas, all of which should be done by Monday.
Renner says the park should be fully renovated and ready to go by Tuesday at the latest.
Renner tells 21 News the park was first renovated about 25 years ago when a gazebo structure was installed. This year, that gazebo was torn down and replaced with an amphitheater-like structure.
These renovations costed $383,000 with $300,000 of that coming from Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) grants and the other $83,000 coming from general city funds.
This structure will be used for the city's Memorial Day service, as well as the Juneteenth celebration and the city's summer concert series. Renner says the space can also be booked for private events.
