Trumbull Co. woman says contractor took money but never finished work

A Trumbull County woman is warning others about a Warren contractor she alleges took her money but didn't finish the job, and she's not alone.

Pamela DiGiacobbe of Liberty Township said she hired "Next Level Home Solutions" to do work last week to replace bricks with a concrete sidewalk.

She said she paid $1,300 to Reese Gavin Clover of Trumbull County, a man she and others allege operates under various names.

"So he took about probably 20, 25 bricks out, and then he left," DiGiacobbe said. "And I'm like, where'd he go? So I text him, and he says, 'Oh, I'm going to pick up my brother to help me, you know, pull out the rest of the patio.' He never came back."

DiGiacobbe has since filed a police report, along with complaints to the Ohio Attorney General's Office and the Girard Prosecutor's Office.

She's not the only one speaking out. Kelly Tandarich of Mogadore said she and her husband lost $6,000 after contracting with the same business in late March to renovate their garage into a master bedroom suite.

"It really broke my heart," Tandarich said. "$6,000 is a lot of money. We're probably not even going to do the job now. It's just, it's very sad. My husband is livid, as he should be, and we've found out there are so many more people for the last three years that he's been doing this to."

Tandarich said she filed complaints with the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission.

The Facebook page for Next Level Home Solutions appears to have been deleted, but posts on Facebook include numerous other people with similar stories.

21 News made multiple attempts to reach Clover by phone and email, but has not received a response.

DiGiacobbe has a warning for others: "Don't give anybody cash. If they're a legit business, they should have accounts, and they shouldn't have to have cash up front."
