Sixty shell casings found after shots fired on Youngstown’s south side

Police are investigating after someone fired at least sixty shots in a southside neighborhood overnight.

Officers were sent to Zedaker Street and Cambridge Avenue, just west of Pemberton Park, at around 2:40 a.m. Monday, when the police department’s ShotSpotter system picked up the gunfire.

Police didn’t find any victims or damage from the shots. However, they did collect sixty shell casings in the street and the surrounding area.

The police will have a report on the incident later on Monday.
