One dead following shooting on Warren's northwest side

Detectives are investigating a fatal overnight shooting on Warren’s northwest side.

The shooting occurred near a convenience store on West Market Street and Southern Boulevard at around 3 a.m. Monday. According to a news release, police got to the scene and found a vehicle where a male victim was found dead.

The male's name has not been released yet.

As of 7:30 a.m., police had West Market Street closed with crime scene tape, but has since reopened.

Local authorities were first told to be on the lookout for a Hummer H3 that may contain the suspect, but later learned that the vehicle was not involved.
