Eric Murray, the executive director of senior living for the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation (YAJF) has just received the Association of Jewish Aging Services Young Executive Award.
The award was presented to Murray to acknowledge his commitment to his role and his excellence in management by Nancy Wagner, the YAJF human services advisory board chairwoman who worked closely with Murray over the past five years.
During his tenure as executive director of the YJAF Murray led a $4.5 million dollar expansion of a new nursing wing for the building, the opening of "state-of-the-art" rehabilitation center as well as reopening and expanding the YJAF Adult Day Services.
Murray entered his position only weeks before national lockdown policies for Covid-19 went into effect and under his leadership the Federation experienced zero cases of COVID-19 for 18 months which was a rare accomplishment among senior living spaces during the pandemic.
"Eric's calm demeanor and thoughtful decision making has led him to exceed expectations and create positive relationships with staff, colleagues, and his volunteer board," says Wagner.
