Columbiana's Project Playground has taken a big step toward its goal with a $200,000 matching gift.

According to the release, the Bradford and Patricia Tingle Family Foundation will add $200,000 to the project once the local community raises that amount.

The Tingle Family Foundation previously gave $24,500 to cover the cost of the playground's initial design.

As of May 2025, the community has raised about $150,000 for the project. Once the remaining $50,000 is donated, the matching gift will be given to them.

To complete Phase 1 of the project, the group will need to have $680,000 raised by October 1 to keep the project on track for a Spring 2026 opening.

The group describes the new playground as an inclusive space for those of all abilities with accessible and engaging features for everyone.

"What the Tingle Family Foundation — alongside the dedicated work of the Restoration & Beautification Committee of Columbiana — has accomplished over the past decade is truly remarkable," Columbiana Project Playground President Michaela Good said. "Their ongoing efforts have completely transformed Firestone Park into a vibrant, welcoming destination that reflects the heart and pride of the Columbiana community. This new playground represents the next chapter in that vision." said Michaela Good, President of Columbiana Project Playground. "We're incredibly grateful to the Tingle Family Foundation for believing in this vision since day one and helping bring it within reach."
