The Brookfield Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the sale of George A. Nicholas Field and the bleacher seating Wednesday.
The board voted 5-0 to approve the three transactions.
The property containing George A. Nicholas Field sold for $215,600.00.
The 8.75-acre property hosted Brookfield football games for the last 50 years.
According to the resolution, the winning bid was submitted by Mohammad Matariya.
Bids began to climb over the last day of the auction. The latest bid was $57,000 on the morning of May 19.
21 News reached out to Basinger Auctions about future plans for the site. Matariya told them there are no solid plans yet for the space.
High Steel Rodeo placed a winning bid of $30,792.50 for Lots 1 and 2 of the stadium bleachers. The rodeo is located nearby on Kinsman Road NW in North Bloomfield.
The school board accepted the winning bid of $22,600.00 for third lot of bleachers. The winner was Sheakleyville Community VFD in Mercer County.
