Trumbull County nurse accused of stealing fentanyl from hospital

A Trumbull County nurse is facing nearly two dozen charges for allegedly stealing fentanyl from a hospital in Warren.

According to court records, 35-year-old Nicolette Gilger is charged with five counts each of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, theft of drugs, deception to obtain a dangerous drug and illegal processing of drug documents.

A representative for the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office tells 21 News Gilger allegedly stole fentanyl from St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren between December 26, 2024 and January 10, 2025.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Gilger had been a registered nurse since 2019.

Gilger was booked into the Trumbull County Jail Friday, May 23 and released the same day. She is scheduled for arraignment on June 11.

21 News reached out to Mercy Health regarding the status of Gilger in the hospital. Below is Mercy Health's statement.
