A few members of the San Francisco 49ers are in town for the 28th Annual Edward DeBartolo Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
About 450 guests were at the Covelli Centre to help raise money
Quarterback Brock Purdy was one of the 49ers in attendance.
"I think its awesome to come here and do some fundraising. Give students opportunities to go to college and take the next step for their life and their careers. To be able to come here and raise awareness, its pretty special," said Purdy.
"It means a lot," said linebacker Fred Warner. "The fact they even invited me to come out and represent the 49ers with Brock, Mykell Williams and others. We're just happy to be here."
Earlier this month the foundation gave away $170 thousand to 17 area students. Over the duration they've given $2.2 million over the 28 years.
Those in attendance were able to win sports memorabilia, Super Bowl trips and game tickets.
