The Calcutta Fire Department Water Rescue Team were called to Beaver Creek Friday afternoon for a kayak that was floating upside down in the water.

Crews searched the creek banks and located the kayak floating against a tree a half a mile south of the bridge on State Route 170 in Fredericktown.

A Calcutta Fire Department rescue swimmer made his way to the kayak and confirmed that no one was inside.

The kayak was recovered with Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department.
