Boardman Police chase ends in Youngstown hit-and-run

A Boardman Police Department pursuit ended in a hit-and-run crash Saturday afternoon on Youngstown’s south side.

A Nissan Rogue westbound on Indianola Avenue had a green light when a vehicle being pursued by Boardman police ran a red light while traveling northbound on Hillman Street and struck his vehicle, according to a Youngstown Police Department report. The Nissan sustained disabling damage to its rear.

The fleeing vehicle, described as a silver passenger car, left the scene. Its driver remains unidentified. The report does not disclose the reason for the police pursuit.

Neither the driver of the Nissan nor a passenger reported being injured. Both were wearing shoulder and lap belts.
