Mahoning County Sheriff's Office receives over $32,000 in marine patrol grants

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) has awarded the Mahoning County Sheriff's Office $32,450.33 in grants to assist with marine patrol.

The grants were awarded to several law enforcement agencies on Lake Erie and the Ohio River to enhance water safety efforts and help local partners better serve Ohioans on the water.

Local Ohio State Representative Lauren McNally is quoted in a press release praising ODNR for partnering with local agencies to provide a safe, welcoming environment on and off the water.

The grant will support local law enforcement in conducting routine water patrols, as well as outfitting their marine patrols with essential safety gear.
