Gas prices in the Mahoning Valley have seen little to no change this week compared to last week.

According to AAA East Central, this week's average in Northeast Ohio is $3.095 per gallon compared to last week's $3.092 per gallon. Youngstown's average is $3.026 per gallon and Niles's average is $3.019 per gallon.

Meanwhile, the national average has also remained stagnant at $3.17 per gallon, which is two cents more than one month ago, but 42 cents less than this time last year.

This is still lower than the average gas price around this time last year, which was $3.553 per gallon. AAA East Central says the primary reason for this is current crude oil supply surpassing current demand.

According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand decreased this week from 8.79 million barrels to 8.64 million and total domestic gasoline supply increased from 224.7 million barrels to 225.5 million.
