Planet Fitness holding grand opening for new Salem location Wednesday

Planet Fitness announced the grand opening of a new location in the Mahoning Valley Tuesday.

The new location is in Salem at 2340 East State Street, the former location of True Value which closed in September last year.

The fitness center will be open 24 hours Monday through Friday and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Salem Planet Fitness features new strength machines, free weights, plate loaded machines, 60+ pieces of cardio equipment, free fitness training, a Black Card Spa for PF Black Card Members, HydroMassage Loungers and tanning beds.

To celebrate the new location, Planet Fitness is hosting an all-day grand opening Wednesday. During the grand opening, there will be complimentary pizza and all members can bring a friend to the gym for free.

New members can get a standard membership for $1 down then $15 per month or a PF Black Card for $1 down and $24.99 per month, with no commitment until June 15.
