Thru Care PC plans to open a drive-through medical care center in Mercer on July 7, offering a new option for non-emergency medical needs where patients won't have to leave their vehicles.

The facility at 101 East Butler St. is designed for efficient care, catering to individuals, families, and working professionals. Services will include diagnosis and treatment for common ailments like earaches, sore throats, and poison ivy. An on-site prescription dispensing for medications within the center's formulary will also be available, along with work and school notes.

Dr. Brian Wolfson, founder and CEO of Thru Care PC, said the center aims to simplify access to medical care. "We know that when you or your child are sick, sitting in a waiting room is often not preferred," Wolfson said. "Our model aims to provide care promptly and from the comfort of your car."

Thru Care PC will accept most major insurance plans and offer a self-pay fee schedule. Appointments are not required.

Kacy Garlock, director of patient affairs, said the center's approach is designed to speed up the process and make health care accessible for all patients, regardless of mobility. "We recognize the challenges of transporting sick family members, the elderly, or children to an emergency room or doctor's office," Garlock said. "Thru Care's design is intended to streamline the triage and visit process, allowing for visits with reduced wait times."

Licensed medical professionals will staff the clinic, which will operate six days a week with extended evening and weekend hours.

Amanda Ferguson, director of clinical operations, added that the center offers efficient health care with no waiting room and reduced waiting times. "Your visit includes onsite prescription dispensing, allowing patients to receive diagnosis, treatment, and medication expeditiously," Ferguson said.

To celebrate its opening, Thru Care PC plans a community event on July 7, 2025, featuring giveaways, opportunities to meet the care team and tours of the drive-through care lanes. Food trucks and vendors are also scheduled to be present throughout the opening week.
