Vitalant, a non-profit blood and biotherapy healthcare organization is calling on patients in Northwest Pennsylvania to give blood this June.

According to a press release, Memorial Day through Labor Day is considered to be "trauma season." This season sees less blood donation activity due to it coinciding with other summer activities.

However, this does not change the need for blood donations. That's why Vitalant is offering rewards for donating blood throughout the month of June.

For a limited time Vitalant will be thanking donors with a $10 gift card, as well as a chance to win $10,000. In order to be eligible to donate blood, you must feel well, be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds.

Vitalant will be holding the following blood drives in Northwest PA throughout June:

- Monday, June 2 at Meadow Valley Christian School (50, South Maysville Road, Greenville) from 12:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.

- Monday, June 2 at Carlton Community in the Harmony Echoe School Multi-Purpose Room (33, Oak St., Sandy Lake) from noon until 4:30 p.m.

- Monday, June 9 at Active Aging Inc - Section A (1034 Park Ave., Meadville) from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

You can schedule an appointment for any of these blood drives by clicking here. You can also do so via the Vitalant app or by calling 877-25-VITAL.
