Thrive Mahoning Valley is welcoming the community back for the second annual Cinco on Phelps celebration, now rescheduled for May 31 from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Phelps Street Gateway in Downtown Youngstown.

Originally planned for earlier this month, the event was postponed due to inclement weather according to a news release.

Cinco on Phelps is a free, family-friendly festival honoring the heritage of Mexican culture and commemorating the Battle of Puebla in 1862, a historic moment symbolizing resilience and unity.

This year's event will feature live performances from The Labra Brothers band and the sounds of Mariachi Santa Cecilia. The event will be emceed by The Party Rican DJ Tito.

Food and drinks for attendees are available from Taquería El Vaquero & Taco Truck, Bre's Patisserie and Red Rican food truck, offering both traditional Mexican dishes and fusion flavors.

The celebration also includes a dozen raffle baskets up for grabs, hands-on arts and crafts and local vendors showcasing a variety of goods and services.

A dedicated Kids Zone will offer free entertainment including a bounce house, face painting and educational activities.

In addition to the festival, several nearby businesses including Costas Seafood & Mexican Grill, Oh Wow!, West 34 and V2 will offer special food, drink and admission deals.

The event is made possible thanks to the support of the City of Youngstown and several community sponsors according to the release.
