Mill Creek MetroParks holds nature camps for kids this summer

Mill Creek MetroParks is hosting The Forest and Me nature camps for children for three weeks this summer.

The camps are for students who will be entering grades one through six next school year or children ages 6 through 12.

Each week will focus on different forest topics while children get the opportunity to hike, make crafts and participate in fun activities. 

Week one will focus on 'The Forest Life Below My Feet'. Campers will explore and learn about soil, geology, life underground and underwater.

The camp begins on Monday, June 9 through Friday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ford Nature Center Education Building in classrooms A and B.

The Ford Nature Center is located at 840 Old Furnace Rd. in Youngstown.

The cost is $125 per child for the five total camp days.
