Bond has been revoked for a Youngstown mayoral candidate who is charged with domestic violence after an alleged incident involving a family member.

A motion was filed on Friday, May 30 by Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman and granted by Judge Sarah Kovoor asking for Independent Youngstown mayoral candidate John White's bond to be revoked after alleged term violations.

According to the motion, these alleged violations started right after White was free on bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim.

The motion alleges that White repeatedly called the victim followed by deactivating her cell phone service through her wireless carrier and hacking into her accounts to change her passwords and lock her out.

This caused a warrant to be issued for White's arrest. White turned himself in on May 16. According to the motion, Judge Jeffrey Adler continued his bond with additional terms.

From there, the motion alleges that White went to the home of a third party and asked about the victim and allegedly said he would "burn the whole city down before he let somebody take her away from him" and that he had been "chasing [her] for 15 years and would never stop."

Days later, the victim allegedly began receiving cryptic texts from an unknown number referring to her as a nickname White uses for her and the sender referring to himself as "George," an alias used by White according to the motion.

According to the motion, these texts referenced where the victim was and what she was doing at the time, leading her to believe White was stalking her.

The motion contained screenshots of these texts with one reading "We could build back better," which according to the motion was a slogan used for White's mayoral campaign.

All of these alleged violations led to another warrant being issued for White's arrest May 30. Wildman says White has since been incarcerated once again.

A hearing was held Tuesday morning where Judge Kovoor officially decided to revoke White's bond. A follow up hearing will be held Friday, June 13. White will remain jailed leading up to this hearing.

White's case began Friday, May 2 after police say he was upset that he was not eligible to run for Youngstown mayor. Police say White had asked the victim to run for him and got angry when she refused.

The report alleges that White threw items around the house, threw the victim's car keys on the roof when she tried to leave and threw her phone in a ditch filled with water when she called 911 causing dispatchers to lose contact with her.

Police say White denied throwing the phone in the ditch instead claiming it slipped off of the victim's shoulder.
