The telecommunications industry's top talent is in North Jackson this week for the second annual Tough Tower competition, an event testing skill and agility.
The competition runs Wednesday, June 4, through Friday, June 6, at Tri-County Tower, 8900 Mahoning Ave.
The event, which pits industry professionals against each other in a series of challenges, kicks off Thursday at 8:45 a.m. with the National Anthem, followed by team challenge assignments. Challenges will run throughout the day, with a sponsor's happy hour and social scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday will feature semi-finals, finals, and an awards ceremony, concluding by 2 p.m.
Organizers anticipate a large turnout and have provided important parking information. On-site parking at Tri-County Tower will be limited to sponsors, judges, challengers, and individuals with disabilities.
Additional overflow parking is available about 1 1/2 miles away at 10578 Mahoning Ave. Attendees should look for a large green flag and "Tough Tower parking" signs. A continuous shuttle service will run from the overflow lot to the event site from 6:30 a.m. until the end of festivities on both Thursday and Friday. Carpooling is encouraged, and attendees are advised to drop off companions at the event site before parking in the overflow lot to minimize shuttle usage.
