The dessert bar at Gorant Chocolates flagship location on Route 224 in Boardman is celebrating their grand opening this weekend.

The grand opening will feature musical entertainment from music group Leather & Lace on Friday and musician Steve Vuich on Saturday.

The event will also include the reveal of a new mural, by local painter and muralist Patrick McGlone, owner of Overall Paint Company Friday night.

The dessert bar is open every Thursday through Saturday, starting at 4 p.m. According to a press release, it is believed to be the first dessert bar and lounge in Ohio.

Gorant co-owner Dr. Nino Rubino says the dessert bar has been well received during their "soft" opening.

"It has the feel of a lounge with soft seating and couches that people love and of course the food and drink options are over the top," Rubino said.

Co-owner Bergen Giordani says they have been tossing around the idea of a dessert bar around for several years.

"When we moved to this space on 224, we decided it would be the perfect opportunity to bring this concept to life, it allows to showcase our chocolate options and bring something new and exciting to the valley," Giordani said.
