Police, coroner investigate death at Niles manufacturer

Niles Police and the Trumbull County Coroner are investigating the death of an employee at a local manufacturer.

An ambulance and the Niles Fire Department were dispatched to BRT Extrusions on North Main Street Friday afternoon when it was reported that a man was unconscious at his press.

The man was taken to a hospital but did not survive.

Niles Police Captain John Marshall tells 21 News that his department wasn’t informed of the death until Monday.

Marshall says one of his detectives will accompany a coroner’s investigator to the company to investigate. OSHA has confirmed with 21 News that it is investigating the incident as well.
