Police investigate vandalism at Stambaugh Golf Course

Police are investigating after two more greens at Stambaugh Golf Course were damaged, bringing the total number of vandalized greens to three in recent weeks.

Youngstown officers were dispatched to the course at 202 Gypsy Lane on Thursday for a report of property damage. The course supervisor told police that greens No. 2 and No. 7 were damaged between 8:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the police report, the turf on the greens was torn up similarly to damage reported two weeks before on the No. 8 green.

An employee provided information to police that someone was heard admitting to the damage.
