Downtown Sharon prepares for Rockin' on the River, a returning free concert series

Rockin' on the River returns to downtown Sharon for the second year in a row beginning on Friday, June 13 with Mercer County's Juvenile Characteristics musical group.

This marks the first of four free concerts that make up the Rockin' on the River series sponsored by the city in an effort to support local businesses.

The remaining concerts are as follows:

• July 11: Ryan Stevenson, a Christian artist known for songs Eye of the Storm and No Matter What
• August 8: Aftermath, sporting golden-era sixties rock music and costumes to match
• August 22: The Four Kings and a Queen, featuring high-energy Motown tunes

Every concert lasts from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The concerts will be catered by local vendors such as the Haitian Sensation Food Truck along with options for beer and wine for guests 21 and up.

If the Ryan Stevenson concert is rained out, it will be moved to the Covenant Church on 263 E State St. All other concerts will be rescheduled for another date should they be rained out.
