Mecca Township trustees will be holding a special meeting on Monday to discuss a proposal for a new township hall.
Mecca Township Trustee Christen Clemson tells 21 News the township is hoping to build a new hall on the property of Mecca Community Park.
Clemson says she hopes this new town hall could house programs like a head start program through Alta, an after-school childcare center, a senior center on weekends and a community health outreach program.
Additionally, Clemson says between 2026 and 2027, the township hopes to install a sidewalk that would connect the new town hall to the high school and the community fishing area.
Trustees will be meeting Tuesday, June 10 at 1 p.m. with the Trumbull County Planning Commission to discuss a potential price tag for the building.
Clemson says trustees have around $500,000 to spend between a $100,000 capital improvements grant from the state and ARP funds from both Trumbull County Commissioners and the township itself.
In terms of a price, Clemson says she hopes for a price tag of under $450,000.
