Hubbard Township Trustees have approved the hiring of a new police chief for the township Tuesday night.

During Tuesday's meeting, trustees unanimously voted to hire Brenda Freeman as the township's new police chief.

Freeman had worked for the Hubbard Township Police Department for 13 years before moving to the Hubbard City Police Department.

Now back in the township, Freeman will be filling the shoes of acting police chief Michael Orr.

No swearing in date has been set for Freeman yet, but her tentative start date is June 24.
