On Wednesday Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced the Commonwealth's partnership with Berner International to inject $15.4 million into the Lawrence County economy and to create and retain nearly 200 jobs.
This plan centers around the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) investing $3 million into Berner's plans to construct a 55,000 foot expansion to its manufacturing facility in New Castle.
Berner designs and manufactures air curtains that keep air conditioned air in and keep pests and dirt out of buildings with regularly open doors.
Berner says this would allow the company to scale production capacity, introduce more advanced manufacturing technologies, and better their logistical operations.
The DCED's funding comes in the form of a $2.4 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loan, a $575,000 Pennsylvania First grant and a $250,000 Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania grant for worker training.
"...my Administration is committed to giving companies the tools they need to thrive..." says Governor Shapiro.
