Youngstown Police say they found drugs and guns in cars at a towing company impound lot.
Youngstown police officers, joined by an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper, searched the cars on Wilson Avenue on Wednesday after obtaining a warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug dealing and firearms.
Inside a gray and camouflage Dodge Charger, officers say they found marijuana edibles, multiple small packages of marijuana, and several bags of bulk marijuana. The exact number of bags or the total weight of the marijuana was not specified by police. They also found five packages of disposable THC vapes. Given the number of items, they were taken to the Youngstown Police Department's Vice Unit for handling and recording.
Officers also searched a Jeep Gladiator, where officers found an AR-15 pistol with a loaded magazine and a 9mm pistol with a loaded magazine. Police say the Jeep had bullet holes. The individual who owns both vehicles is reportedly not allowed to have firearms due to a previous felony conviction. The firearms were also taken by police as evidence.
