Construction for Phase 2 of the $25 million East Palestine park revitalization project is set to begin Monday, June 16.
Phase 2 will focus on site preparation for a future aquatic center, as well as the installation of safety fencing and demolition of the park's existing sports courts.
Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. each day. Work on Phase 2 is expected to be done by summer of 2026.
During the construction period, certain areas like Rainbow Dreamland will temporarily close for safety beginning June 15, but the majority of the park will remain open throughout the summer, fall and winter seasons.
Some other nearby facilities may also experience brief closures throughout the construction period.
The parking lot between the current tennis courts and the existing pool building will serve as the primary work and laydown area.
