Youngstown special event traffic advisories

The Simply Slavic Festival, Pride Youngstown, and the Juneteenth Celebration are ongoing or coming up and the city of Youngstown is getting the streets ready.

The Simply Slavic Festival is taking place for the second year in a row at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre from June 13-14 featuring various forms of slavic cultural demonstrations and celebrations.

Saturday's festivities will run from noon to 8:30 p.m. 

According to city officials affordable parking is within walking distance of the venue.

 

Pride Youngstown is an annual event taking place on Saturday, June 14 with events curated by the Rust Belt Theatre Company featuring live entertainment, local vendors, community outreach programs and a parade starting at noon.

Events will take place in the Downtown Outdoor Refreshment Area of Youngstown from noon to 9 p.m.

Due to the parade Commerce Street from Symphony Place to Wick Avenue will be partially closed from 10:30 a.m. until approximately 12:30.

Free public parking is open behind the Strauss Building at 20 Federal Place.

 

The Juneteenth Fireworks and Food Trucks Celebration will be held Thursday, June 19 at Wean Park on the Covelli Centre side.

The event is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. and ending with a fireworks display at dark.

Free parking will be available at the Covelli Centre with free event seating also available.

Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

The Market Street Bridge will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. to serve as a staging ground for the fireworks display.
