Coroner releases name of victim of homicide on Youngstown's South Side

The Mahoning County Coroner's Office has released the name of the person who was killed in a deadly shooting on Youngstown's South Side last week.

The coroner identified the victim as 18-year-old Dailyn Ford.

Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Lanterman Avenue around 1 a.m. Wednesday, June 18 according to the Youngstown Police Department's public information officer.

Ford was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. . Police say homes in the neighborhood were also struck by gunfire.

The area was cordoned off with crime scene tape, and numerous evidence markers were placed.

At this time, no suspects have been named in this shooting. Anyone with any information on the shooting or anyone involved is asked to call YPD's detectives division.
