Regional Chamber highlights several community events coming to downtown Youngstown

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is encouraging residents to check out several upcoming events in downtown Youngstown in the coming days.

According to a press release, these upcoming events highlight community culture and local pride and reflect the spirit of energy in the area.

"We encourage everyone - families, professionals and visitors to come downtown, enjoy what's being offered and be part of the positive momentum happening in Youngstown. This is what community looks like," said Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber President and CEO Guy Coviello.

One of these events is the Juneteenth Freedom Fireworks set to take place from 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Wean Park Thursday, June 19. Fireworks will be launched from the Market Street Bridge just after dark. There will also be local food options and family-friendly activities.

Parking is available at the Covelli Centre.

Also happening Thursday, Penguin City Brewing Company will host the first Penguin City Night Market of the 2025 season. The market will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature local vendors, artists, food trucks and non-profit spotlights. The event will end with karaoke featuring DJ Spruce.

The Night Market will take place on the third Thursday of every month throughout the summer.

The Juneteenth celebration continues at Wean Park Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 with the Youngstown Juneteenth Cultural Festival.

The festival runs from noon until 8 p.m. both days and will feature musical performances, vendors, food trucks, the Youngstown Youth Talent Showcase, the Juneteenth RhymeFest and the Sunday Soulfood Cook-Off Competition.

Finally, Wean Park will be the site of the Youngstown Summer Movie Series, which kicks off Monday, June 23 at 9 p.m. and continues every Monday through August. In the event of a rainout, the event will be rescheduled to the next day at 9 p.m.

The first event will feature a screening of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
