Flames spread from garage to home in Boardman

 A house fire in Boardman extensively damaged an attached garage and spread to a home.

The fire, which started in the garage on Zander Drive around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, quickly extended into the house through the attic, according to fire officials.

Crews from the Boardman and Canfield fire departments responded to the blaze. While the garage sustained significant damage, the extent of the damage to the main house was not immediately clear.

The fire also caused damage to a neighboring home, including melted siding. Ohio Edison was on the scene due to downed power lines in the area.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
