Sparkle Market in Warren to close down next month

Sparkle's Warren location on Parkman Road will be closing down within the next two weeks.

21 News spoke with Store Owner Tony Modarelli who confirmed the news of the store's imminent closure.

Modarelli said that this location was closing down due to the rise in competition from big-box stores and other grocers.

He also mentioned that Sparkle Market is a unionized business and thus other stores don't have to worry about working with unions or handling worker's pensions.

Starting on Monday, June 23 there will be a sale on all store merchandise good for 25% off everything in the store with the exception of alcohol and tobacco products.

The owner expects the doors of Parkman Road's Sparkle to close around July 4.
