A dog previously reported to be in critical condition after it was found suffering from a heat stroke in Warren on Monday has died.

According to a Facebook post from Healthy Hearts & Paws Project President and CEO Jason Cooke, a dog was found outside on Tod Avenue in Warren in temperatures that felt over 100 degrees with no food or water and suffering from an apparent heat stroke.

The dog was rushed to the Newton Falls Animal Hospital where he's said to be in critical condition with a temperature of 108.5. Cooke updated 21 News on Tuesday telling us the dog has since died.

At this point, no charges are filed and no one has been arrested in this case, but Cooke told 21 News "come hell or high water" someone will be arrested.

Cooke is reminding dog owners not to leave their dogs unattended in extreme heat without food and water for an extended period of time.

Cooke had previously told 21 News about local tethering laws in the Valley prohibiting leaving animals out in extreme heat. You can read more about that .
