Niles man accused of raping a child held without bond in Portage County jail

A Portage County judge has ruled that 75-year-old Danny M. McFadden will continue to be held without bond after being declared a "danger to society." 

McFadden faces a total of 24 charges following a criminal investigation by the Trumbull County Sheriff's office. The charges include 15 counts of first-degree rape, eight counts of third-degree gross sexual imposition and one count of fourth-degree gross sexual imposition. 

According to court documents, the alleged abuse took place between 2017 and May 2025 and began when the victim was just five years old. 

Due to a reported conflict with a jail staff member in Trumbull County, McFadden is being held at the Portage County jail as the case proceeds. 

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for July 16.
