Demolition work is continuing at the Reeves Building site in Warren.
Pro Quality Demolition tells 21 News crews are out Tuesday working to take down the elevator shaft in the building, whose history in the city dates back to the 1920s.
The building has sat vacant for 10 to 15 years. It was sold in 2019 to a developer who intended to create remodeled apartments and storefronts at the building. However, this plan did not come into fruition landing the property on the city's demolition list.
During Warren's State of the City Address, Mayor Doug Franklin announced that a hotel would be built at the site of the building.
Mayor Franklin did not reveal which hotel this would be, but said it is part of a hotel chain currently not in the city's market and folks will recognize it when they see it.
