The Brightside Project will host a free pool party for teens from Columbiana and rural Mahoning counties on Monday, June 30. The "Youth Summit Pool Party" aims to provide a safe and positive environment for young people.

The event is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. at Centennial Pool & Splash Pad, located at 472 Park Ave. in Salem.

Those attending will have free access to the pool and receive complimentary Kona Ice, courtesy of the Ohio Oil & Gas Industry. Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will also be provided. Each teen who checks in will receive a swag bag and a wristband for full access to the event.

Lisa Vittorio, co-director of The Brightside Project, emphasized the importance of offering such opportunities for teens.

"It's incredibly important to us to continue creating opportunities for teens to come together in a safe, positive environment where they can build relationships, make healthy choices, and simply enjoy being kids," Vittorio said. "In a world that constantly bombards teens with negative influences, we want to be a source of light — reminding them that they are seen, valued, and supported."

The Brightside Project is a nonprofit organization based in Salem, serving children and families in Columbiana and rural Mahoning counties. The organization focuses on removing barriers that prevent children from experiencing a safe and healthy childhood through various programs and outreach initiatives.
