A voice teacher from New Wilmington is facing charges after police say he groomed a student by sending her sexual messages.

According to a criminal complaint, the allegations were first brought to light in May of 2023 when the alleged victim, who was 15 years old at the time, spoke with troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP).

The alleged victim told troopers she'd been taking voice lessons with then 39-year-old Justin Bryan at his house since 2019. Troopers say Bryan got the alleged victim's phone number and Snapchat information for remote lessons during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Troopers say beginning in July of 2022, Bryan began sending the alleged victim inappropriate messages including guessing her bra size and discussing his sexual activity with her.

The complaint further alleges that Bryan told the alleged victim that he was unhappy with his wife and was in love with her and told her to call him "Daddy Dom."

Additionally, Troopers say Bryan told the victim he was counting down the days until she was old enough to have sex with him and described what he'd do to her in detail. Troopers say these messages came almost daily.

The victim also alleges Bryan told her he could not wait until she turned 16 so she could drive herself to lessons and stay afterward.

The complaint further alleges that comments like this were even made in person including one incident where Bryan allegedly made a sexual comment to the alleged victim when she went on the floor to clean up spilled water.

Finally, the complaint states that the alleged victim sent a nude photo of herself to Bryan after he asked for one.

The alleged victim told troopers she stopped taking lessons with Bryan in July of 2022 because she felt like she was being groomed and wanted out of it.

Court records show Bryan is charged with several felony counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor and misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors. He was arraigned on June 20 and due back in court June 26 for a preliminary hearing.
